The Wells Family Band Bio WHAT MAKES THE WELLS FAMILY BAND DIFFERENT FROM THE REST? Few bands dare to step out of their creative box and explore the unmarked territory of nearly every musical style, thus allowing them to create an unexampled style of their own. This does not apply to The Wells Family Band of North Carolina. Creating an extremely unique sound, they appeal to audiences in every genre, uniting both younger and older generations with their versatility. Their music has been accepted in a variety of music categories including bluegrass, gospel, country, folk, and pop. The band consists of Debi (Mom), playing guitar, and daughters: Sara (25), on 5-string banjo & dobro, Jade (23), on mandolin and guitar, and Eden (19), on fiddle accompanied by bassist Phil Bishop. This band has a powerful acoustic sound, along with great songwriting skills, inspiring acapellas, family tight harmonies, driving instrumentals, and a great sense of humor! Not only are they talented and gifted musicians, they are awesome performers. The Wells Family has consistently charted #1 on many bluegrass radio charts, and their original single "Moment In Time" charted #1 consecutively for 3 weeks on Clear Channel Country Radio New Artist Chart. Several of their original songs have been chosen for the distinguished IBMA Songwriters Showcase. They have played stages such as the CMT Pickin' Porch, which was filmed for CMT Loaded online. This patriotic band has performed for the soldiers at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington DC. They have also contributed material to a motion picture soundtrack. The band's endorsements by Decon Jones Auto Park, Sam Ash, GHS Strings, Beard Guitars, and Intellitouch Tuners are a representation of the level of respect they have earned in the music industry. Many times they have found themselves playing for sold out crowds at places like the prestigious Swallow Hill in Denver, CO, and other extravagant venues across the United States and Canada. They have been known to perform at events that include such diverse greats from Ricky Skaggs, Hank Williams Jr., Ralph Stanley, Marty Stuart, Del McCoury, Rhonda Vincent, Seldom Scene, The Bluegrass Brothers, IIIrd Tyme Out, and The Dillards, to Grammy Winner Comedian Bill Harley, and many, many more. Their music can be heard as far as England, France, Australia, Canada, other European countries, and Japan. The Wells Family was one of the bands chosen to perform at the highly esteemed Central Canadian Bluegrass Awards, and their DVD in 2006 was a #1 sell out in Japan. So not only are they sweeping the nation with their brilliant sound... they are stunning audiences worldwide.
